Year 5 has learnt that they will be learning about 'entertainment' this term with the driving question 'How has science influenced entertainment?'
To begin our inquiry Year 5 experienced different ways people are entertained. Students rotated through activities focused on video games, board games, cards, lego, podcasts, music, videos, reading and art.

Year 2 have been busy exploring the observable changes that occur in the sky and on the land through a range of exciting hands-on Science investigations this term 🔍 🔭🥼👩🔬👨🔬 Students investigated the movement and position of the Sun throughout the day and explored how it impacts the weather, temperature and our environment. 📊☀️🌡️ Using their knowledge of the seasons and weather patterns, students worked as young scientists to collect daily weather data, identifying changes and patterns in the sky and discussing how seasonal changes affect our daily lives and living things 🌙🌤️🌧️ We are so proud of the curiosity, teamwork and enthusiasm Year 2 have shown throughout their learning in Science this term! 🌏

✏️📚 Kindergarten students have been enjoying their on the mat sessions every morning as they build strong foundations in reading and writing. During these engaging lessons, students practise recognising letters and sounds, develop correct handwriting formation, and strengthen their early literacy skills through explicit learning experiences. A special part of the session is sharing and discussing learning with a partner, giving students opportunities to practise speaking, listening, and encouraging one another as learners. We love seeing their confidence and enthusiasm continue to grow each day! 🌟

Last Wednesday, a garden blitz was held at Holy Family School Garden 🌿🌼 to prepare the garden beds for planting! 🪴🌱 Our students worked hard across the school community 💚 🌱 Year 6 prepared a garden bed by moving and mixing soil. 🌱 Year 5 moved more soil and started planting seedlings. 🌱 Year 2 pulled out weeds and planted seedlings. 🌱 Year 4 helped tidy the Kindergarten play area by pulling weeds. 🌱 Year 3 prepared another garden bed ready for planting. What a wonderful team effort to help our garden grow! 🌼🌿👏
