Year 5 has learnt that they will be learning about 'entertainment' this term with the driving question 'How has science influenced entertainment?'
To begin our inquiry Year 5 experienced different ways people are entertained. Students rotated through activities focused on video games, board games, cards, lego, podcasts, music, videos, reading and art.

Kindergarten 2026 – Our First Transition Morning 💛 Today our newest Holy Family members took their first big step on their learning journey! It was a joy to see our future Kindergarten students meet one another, explore their new surroundings, and begin to build the beautiful friendships that will grow over the years 🖍️📚 As they played, shared, and learned together, we were reminded of Pope Leo’s recent words: “Even when we are little, we can all learn to build peace and friendship. Jesus calls us to learn to be friends with everyone, all brothers and sisters. We are all sons and daughters of God.” 💫 This message truly came to life in every smile, every shared block tower, and every moment of wonder among our newest learners. While the children were busy creating and connecting, Mrs Clogher led a special Religious Education session for parents and carers. Families engaged in hands-on activities that reflected how their children will continue to come to know Jesus’ love for us and for others when they begin at Holy Family ❤️ Parents also had the opportunity to write a Prayer of Hope ✨heartfelt messages for the children beginning Kindergarten in 2026. These prayers will be held close to our hearts as we prepare to welcome our newest little members of the Holy Family community. 🏆 Eureka! Year 5 Struck Gold! 💰⛏️ Today, our students stepped back in time to 1851 and experienced the excitement of life on the Australian goldfields! From panning for gold in the creek to discovering what it took to survive and strike it rich, students got a real taste of the gold rush spirit. 🪙✨ There were moments of teamwork, determination and plenty of golden smiles as everyone searched for their fortune. As part of our Mission Week celebrations at Holy Family, we supported Socktober, a Catholic Mission initiative that helps vulnerable children and communities around the world 🌍❤️. On Tuesday 21st of October, students wore their most colourful, fun, and wacky socks 🧦🎉 and brought a gold coin donation 💰 to support this important cause. Throughout the day, we joined in the Kick for Goal activity ⚽, raising both awareness and funds while having fun! 😄 Socktober reminded us that even small actions—like wearing crazy socks—can make a big difference in the lives of others 💫.
