Year 5 has learnt that they will be learning about 'entertainment' this term with the driving question 'How has science influenced entertainment?'
To begin our inquiry Year 5 experienced different ways people are entertained. Students rotated through activities focused on video games, board games, cards, lego, podcasts, music, videos, reading and art.

Today, Year 2 went on an excursion to the Granville Historical Society. ๐ซ This was part of our Integrated unit exploring important people, places, and events in our local community. ๐๏ธ We started by speaking with Harry Stephens from the Granville Historical Society Inc NSW Australia to unpack what history is. ๐ We then went for a walk ๐ถ exploring the Town Hall, Granville Rail Disaster Memorial, Memorial for former Granville Mayors, and looking at all the Heritage listed houses in the area. ๐ก Year 2 had a great time exploring the pieces of History hidden among our daily lives. โจ![575065817749614_1297520902170765-1]()

๐ญโจ Holy Family had the joy of hosting the 2025 Captivate Drama Arts Factor today! We are SO proud of our talented students who took to the stage with confidence and creativity ๐๐. It was such a fun day filled with laughter, drama and imagination, and we loved cheering on the amazing performances from all the other schools too ๐๐๐ฌ. What a celebration of the arts! โค๏ธ๐ถ A huge thank you to the Captivate team from Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese for always supporting staff and students in being able to capture the creative genius in each person. Thank you to St. Aidan's Primary School, Rooty Hill, stpatricksprimaryguildford, stmichaelsblacktown and @stjosephskingswood for joining us today. All the students performed amazingly. A massive shoutout to our staff Miss Lianos, Mrs Irwin and Mrs Sahyoun who worked tirelessly week after week with our incredible students!! Well done ๐

โจ Yesterday our Holy Cross Parish Schools came together in faith and community to celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. ๐โ๏ธ It was a joyful occasion filled with prayer, song and reflection as we honoured the Cross, a sign of hope, love and new life in Jesus. Year 1 got creative today! ๐จโจ We designed special bookmarks all about our Holy Family community and the symbols of Baptism. ๐งโ๏ธ These bookmarks are extra special because weโll be gifting them to Year 2 to help teach and share what weโve learned. ๐๐ What a beautiful way to learn, create, and give! ๐ Each week our Year 6 students enjoy visiting the library, where they immerse themselves in new stories and borrow books to take home. Itโs inspiring to see their excitement grow as they explore different genres, swap recommendations, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

๐ RU OK? Day 2025 ๐ Today our school community came together to reflect, connect and grow ๐ฑ. We engaged in a range of activities, learning the important messages of RU OK? Day ๐ฌ๐. Through the parable of the mustard seed, students explored how something small can grow into something big โ just like asking โAre you OK?โ can plant seeds of hope, comfort and connection ๐ฟโจ. Students threw words of kindness ๐, became listening legends ๐โญ, and reminded us that even small actions can make a big difference. We then shared a beautiful family picnic lunch ๐งบ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ before spending the afternoon writing colourful chalk messages of kindness around our school ๐๏ธ๐. ๐ A huge thank you to our staff, families, and students for creating such a special day of care and community. Together, we grew a garden of compassion, kindness, and connection ๐ผ๐ฑ๐.

๐๐ Year 2 celebrated their Safe and Ready to Learn reward with an action-packed NRL Day! Students proudly wore their favourite team jerseys, showing off their colours and team spirit ๐๐โค๏ธ๐. Today we came together to celebrate Fatherโs Day ๐ with a delicious breakfast ๐ฅโ shared between families, friends, and our school community. It was a wonderful way to honour the dads, grandfathers, and father figures who guide and support us every day ๐จโ๐งโ๐ฆโจ. Following breakfast, we gathered for a special Mass โช๐, giving thanks for the gift of fathers and the love they bring to our lives. As Fatherโs Day approaches this Sunday, we ask Godโs blessing over all fathers โ may they be strengthened with wisdom, patience, and love as they continue to nurture and inspire their families ๐๐.
