Year 5 has learnt that they will be learning about 'entertainment' this term with the driving question 'How has science influenced entertainment?'
To begin our inquiry Year 5 experienced different ways people are entertained. Students rotated through activities focused on video games, board games, cards, lego, podcasts, music, videos, reading and art.

π¨ Missing: Year 4! π¨ Today, Year 4 seemed to disappear and in their place were teachers, sports stars, singers, workmen, scientists, make-up artists and surgeons! π©βπ«β½π€π¨π¬ππ©Ί As a reward for consistently following our school expectations, Year 4 dressed up as who or what they wanted to be when they are older. π It was wonderful to see our students dreaming big and proudly sharing what they hope to become in the future. πββοΈπββοΈ Athletics Carnival 2026 π What an incredible day of energy, teamwork and school spirit! From the starting line to the finish line, our students gave their best, cheered each other on and showed outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day. π Whether they were running, jumping, or supporting their friends, everyone played a part in making our Athletics Carnival such a success. Year 2 have been busy exploring the observable changes that occur in the sky and on the land through a range of exciting hands-on Science investigations this term π ππ₯Όπ©βπ¬π¨βπ¬ Students investigated the movement and position of the Sun throughout the day and explored how it impacts the weather, temperature and our environment. πβοΈπ‘οΈ Using their knowledge of the seasons and weather patterns, students worked as young scientists to collect daily weather data, identifying changes and patterns in the sky and discussing how seasonal changes affect our daily lives and living things ππ€οΈπ§οΈ We are so proud of the curiosity, teamwork and enthusiasm Year 2 have shown throughout their learning in Science this term! π

βοΈπ Kindergarten students have been enjoying their on the mat sessions every morning as they build strong foundations in reading and writing. During these engaging lessons, students practise recognising letters and sounds, develop correct handwriting formation, and strengthen their early literacy skills through explicit learning experiences. A special part of the session is sharing and discussing learning with a partner, giving students opportunities to practise speaking, listening, and encouraging one another as learners. We love seeing their confidence and enthusiasm continue to grow each day! π

Last Wednesday, a garden blitz was held at Holy Family School Garden πΏπΌ to prepare the garden beds for planting! πͺ΄π± Our students worked hard across the school community π π± Year 6 prepared a garden bed by moving and mixing soil. π± Year 5 moved more soil and started planting seedlings. π± Year 2 pulled out weeds and planted seedlings. π± Year 4 helped tidy the Kindergarten play area by pulling weeds. π± Year 3 prepared another garden bed ready for planting. What a wonderful team effort to help our garden grow! πΌπΏπ
